The main objective of the project is to integrate a new recycling line for post-consumer plastics from the metal separation and fragmentation process. More than 75,000 tonnes of metal waste are collected and transformed annually, of which more than 1,500 tonnes are sent to landfill, with post-consumer plastics accounting for 36% of the fragmentation waste. With the implementation of the plastics management line, it will be possible to recycle or recover this plastic waste that currently goes to landfill, thus reducing waste by 22%. In addition, 79% of the waste managed will be recycled to 82%, increasing recycled waste by 3%. The performance of the chemical recycling process by glycolysis of PET waste is expected to be ≥ 60%.
4 types of products will be produced:
– Plastic flakes or flakes suitable for use by farming companies.
– Recycled polyols suitable for use by companies that formulate polyurethane products, such as foams or adhesives.
– New recycled plastic products with application in furniture or construction.
– New plastic wood products with main application in street furniture.
