Premier-Plas Chemical Recycling Plant for Plastic Waste

PRTR Call for Proposals Project

The project addresses the design and construction of the first industrial plant with Urbaser’s patented technology (ES2759939B2) for the chemical recycling of plastic waste that is not mechanically recyclable, and that would otherwise end up in landfills. With this technology, plastic waste becomes a new raw material that can be used for the manufacture of circular polymers with a low carbon footprint and with the same quality/functionality as equivalent virgin polymers. The 15,000 t/y plant would integrate the main process stages: pre-treatment and pyrolysis.

The objective is to design and build a new industrial pyrolysis plant with technology patented by URBASER (ES2759939B2) to carry out the chemical recycling of plastic waste that is not mechanically recyclable (mainly LDPE film) and that currently has the landfill as its final destination, to obtain pyrolysis liquids of sufficient quality so that the petrochemical industry can assume them as a secondary raw material directly to obtain new circular plastics.
