RenaturaliZA is an innovative proposal to create a green infrastructure strategy for the city of Zamora inspired by its own identity and based on the concept of cultural landscapes as an expression of the co-evolution between humans and the environment in each territory. This idea articulates the core actions of the proposal, through which the two main nodes of the network, the Duero River and the Valorio Forest, are improved and connected, and a new corridor is created along the wall as an incipient green ring where historical and cultural heritage is intermingled. In addition to these actions, a set of pilot actions will be developed to show the full potential of the multifunctionality of green infrastructure and Nature-based Solutions to promote biodiversity, the provision of ecosystem services and the well-being and health of people. The project proposes the renaturation of 749,854 m2 of urban spaces.
