The project, which has been based on the River Planning Model developed by the Pamplona City Council in recent years, lays the foundations for a resilient city committed to the natural environment.
Pamplona, through its URBAN AGENDA 2030, within the framework of which this project is integrated, has opted for green and blue infrastructures as a tool to achieve a greener city, committed to the fight against climate change, with more sustainable mobility. A Pamplona where equality, participation, coexistence, inclusion, ecology, universal accessibility and the perspective of age and gender are fundamental values.
RUNA 2025 develops a municipal green and blue infrastructure plan and a sustainable urban drainage strategy, which will support 11 different actions, located on the Arga (mainly), Sadar and Elorz rivers, freeing the river ecosystem from anthropic pressures, resuming its ecological function, increasing its biodiversity and articulating a consistent green infrastructure around the different riverbeds that run through the city.
