This project aims to transform the way natural resources are managed and protected, using advanced digitalization as a central tool to improve environmental management, promote citizen education and participation, and facilitate international collaboration. Thanks to the creation of open platforms, the digitization of data and the implementation of innovative tools, the sustainability of ecosystems and the well-being of the communities that depend on them will be guaranteed.

It has the following specific objectives:

• To guarantee the accessibility and standardisation of historical and current data on biodiversity in the Spanish-Portuguese strip and the Cantabrian Mountains through their digitisation, ensuring their compatibility with national and international databases and facilitating their use in research and environmental management.

• Develop a publicly accessible digital platform that centralizes and visualizes information on biodiversity, integrating geospatial analysis tools and connecting with official databases to improve conservation decision-making.

• Implement innovative digital solutions, including a citizen science mobile app and geospatial analysis tools, that facilitate environmental data collection and encourage active societal participation in biodiversity conservation.

• Design and implement a strategic plan for the efficient management of data within FNYH, ensuring its secure storage, interoperability and automation in the collection and analysis of environmental information, aligned with the FAIR principles.

• Strengthen cooperation between universities, research centres and environmental entities through agreements, events and workshops that promote the exchange of knowledge and good practices in the digitisation of biodiversity data.

• Develop awareness campaigns and volunteer programs that integrate technological tools for environmental data collection, promoting the active participation of local communities and the integration of traditional knowledge in the digital conservation of biodiversity.

• Digitization of biodiversity inventories.

• Creation of a publicly accessible digital platform that centralises and makes accessible information on biodiversity in the Spanish-Portuguese strip and the Cantabrian Mountains.

• Development of digital tools that facilitate the collection of environmental data.

• Development of an internal digitalisation plan.

• Creation of collaborative networks to strengthen the exchange of knowledge and good practices in the digitization of biodiversity data.

• Promotion of public awareness through environmental education campaigns and the development of digital educational materials.
