Implement the FAIR principles to the Aranzadi Science Society’s Ringing Databank to help Spain position itself as an international benchmark in digitization and open access to ringing data, promoting interoperability, institutional collaboration and the effective use of information for bird and biodiversity conservation.

It has these specific goals:

• Digitize 100% of the SCA’s bird banding data.

• To develop a digital portal that allows the data on bird ringing and recovery data from the SCA to be viewed, consulted and downloaded.

• To develop tools for the improvement of governance associated with the justification of bird ringing authorisations in Spain.

• Promote the collaboration of the SCA, in the field of bird ringing, with the Public Administrations and public managers of biodiversity in Spain to optimize the use of data and the governance linked to the development of this activity.

• Digitize all the ringing data that is still on sheets of paper (about 50,000).

• Development of a ringing data portal-viewer.

• Development of a tool that facilitates the justification of the ringing authorities to the competent Administrations in this area.

• Development of a training and education webinar for the use of the ringing portal.
