Archipelagos and islands are areas that are very vulnerable to climate change. Due to their characteristics, they are exposed to suffer to a greater extent the consequences of rising temperatures, rising sea levels or changes in ecosystems, among others. Hence, the Third Work Program of the PNACC 2006-2020 considers the island among its areas of work.
For all of the above, this project has aimed to analyse the knowledge and perception of the key socio-economic agents of the Spanish archipelagos in terms of adaptation to climate change, to connect experts and public officials in the field, as well as to publicise the work that is being carried out and to seek new lines of work.
The project has sought to highlight the high vulnerability of island environments in Spain to climate change, activate actions in the field of adaptation and connect the main socio-economic agents.
