ECOGYM’s general objective is to train workers in skills related to the energy transition, renewable energy production, self-consumption, energy efficiency, circular economy, resource optimisation and green entrepreneurship, favouring their professional adaptation to the green and digital labour market.

The specific objectives are the following:

1. To improve the professional skills of workers in matters related to the energy transition, green employment and sustainability, through digital training actions aimed at renewable energies, self-consumption, energy efficiency, circular economy and zero waste.

2. To facilitate the adaptation of workers to the new green and digital labour market, promoting re-skilling and up-skilling processes that allow them to update their knowledge, improve their employability and strengthen their capacity for professional development in strategic sectors.

3. To develop differentiated training itineraries for the training of four professional profiles linked to the energy sector, including professionals in the energy sector, energy entrepreneurs, experts in self-consumption and experts in waste optimisation.

4. Promote the participation of working women in sectors linked to energy, sustainability and the green economy, helping to reduce gender gaps in traditionally masculinised areas and favouring their access to technical skills and professional opportunities.

5. To promote access to specialised training for rural workers, reducing territorial barriers through a digital, flexible, accessible methodology adapted to the needs of people with less time availability or greater difficulties in accessing face-to-face training resources.

6. To promote entrepreneurship and green intrapreneurship in the energy sector, accompanying participants in the identification, analysis and maturation of business initiatives or internal projects related to the energy transition, efficiency, self-consumption and the circular economy.

7. To transfer technical knowledge and skills applied to the productive fabric, making it easier for participants to incorporate sustainable energy solutions, efficiency practices and circular models in their companies, professional sectors or activity projects.

8. To reinforce practical training in energy self-consumption and optimisation of facilities, providing knowledge on renewable production, monitoring, maintenance, energy saving and improvement of the performance of self-consumption systems.

9. To train in circular economy, waste reduction and “zero waste” models, favouring the application of prevention, reuse, eco-design, traceability and environmental improvement strategies in productive activities.

10. Guarantee a system of accompaniment, monitoring and evaluation of the participants, which allows them to guide their training itinerary, prevent dropouts, accredit their participation, evaluate results and generate solid evidence for the execution and justification of the project.

11. Incorporate, in a transversal way, equal opportunities, accessibility and the gender perspective in all phases of the project, from recruitment and communication to training, advice, monitoring, evaluation and reporting of results.

12. Contribute to a fair, inclusive and territorially balanced energy transition, aligning the training of workers with the needs of the business fabric, the challenges of the green economy and the priorities of the Empleaverde+ Programme and the ESF+.

The project combines online training actions that contain sectoral modules, specialised advice and support to help participants evolve professionally towards sectors linked to the energy transition, activate intrapreneurship or green entrepreneurship initiatives and apply sustainable solutions in the productive fabric of Extremadura.

The project’s methodology is based on the concept of the “digital gym”: participants train their skills through structured training blocks, compulsory and optional modules, knowledge assessment and personalised support, with a practical orientation towards green employment, business innovation and sustainability.

ECOGYM expects to reach 4,200 net workers in training and advisory actions.
The results will be collected and reported in a disaggregated manner by sex, age, membership of priority social groups and territorial scope, in accordance with the requirements of the Empleaverde+ Programme and the European Social Fund Plus.

Among the main expected results are:

– Improvement of professional skills in energy transition and green employment;
– Greater training in self-consumption, energy efficiency and circular economy;
– Strengthening the participation of women in green and energy sectors;
– Improved access to specialized training in rural areas;
– Activation of professional re-skilling itineraries;
– Promotion of green entrepreneurship and intrapreneurship initiatives;
– Transfer of knowledge to the productive fabric of Extremadura;
– Generation of applicable capacities in SMEs, self-employed people and strategic sectors.
