The main objective of the project is the development of a multifunctional hanger made from monomaterial recycled plastic (polypropylene, PP), with an innovative design that optimises its use both in the transport of garments and in their display in store. This new hanger will replace the current models of hangers used separately for transport and display, unifying both uses in a single model. The hanger will be designed under the “Return to Source” (RTS) circular economy approach, using recycled plastic that can be integrated back into the production cycle once the used hangers have reached their useful life. One of the main innovations of the design is the incorporation of a round rod that allows the grippers to rotate, making better use of the space inside the boxes during transport. This optimisation eliminates wasted space, avoids folding of garments (which reduces ironing costs) and improves logistics efficiency, also reducing the carbon footprint associated with transport. On the other hand, by replacing the models of hangers for transport and display with a single model, the aim is to reduce the amount of resources needed, both in terms of materials and logistical and production processes.
